Give It A Go Session
Our first taster session with the new committee and targeted at first years to show them what our society has to offer.
What happened
In this session we as a society introduced our new members to a small challenge related to space to familiarise them with our activities and interests.
We only run GIAG sessions once a semester, so make sure to keep an eye out for the next one!
The Phases
The event was split into three phases, the first phase was a planning phase where the teams were given a challenge and had to plan how they would complete it, the second phase was a building phase where the teams had to build their solution to the challenge, and the third phase was a testing phase where the teams had to test their solution to see if it worked.
The Teams
The teams were given a challenge to complete in a set time, the teams were made up of 4-5 members and were given a small amount of materials to complete the challenge.
The Results
The results were based on a basic scoring system, taking into account creativity, functionality, teamwork and finally if the egg survived.
